General Reminders

  • The children will be doing PE on Wednesday and Friday. The children can wear their PE kits to school on these days.
  • The children will be encouraged to bring in their own water bottle to keep in class which they can access throughout the day. Please make sure your child’s name is written clearly on their bottle.
  • The children may also bring in a small healthy snack to enjoy during the morning break. Please ensure that no nuts, or items containing nuts are sent into school.

Reading in Oak

The children will complete daily guided and individual reading tasks with adults in school. Please ensure that your child has their home reading book in school everyday. It is vitally important that they regularly read with an adult at home. Please ensure that you sign your child’s record diary.

Spellings

Spelling lists are sent home on a Friday and are tested the following Friday. These words are linked to the phonic and spelling work that the children learn in school and may be following a specific phonic pattern or common keywords that the children need to learn to spell correctly, in order to improve the fluency in their writing.

Homework

Homework will be set on a Friday and will be expected to be returned the following Wednesday.  The children have been given new reading diaries, in the front of the diary the children’s usernames and passwords for all online learning platforms have been provided.
