In DT this half-term, we are focusing on structures. For our first lesson, the children were given the challenge of creating a bridge with limited materials. The children worked in groups to design, create and evaluate their bridges.

Once the children had created their bridges, it was time to put them to the test. Could their bridges take the weight of a potato?

The children worked extremely hard, considering ways to keep their bridges stable and using their maths knowledge of shapes and angles too!

Every bridge was able to take the weight of not one but two potatoes!
