Founded in 1897 and 1898 the Mary Hamer Hoyle Trusts exist to promote educational opportunities for former pupils of Summerseat Methodist Primary School or Rowlands Methodist Sunday School.

Small grants are often awarded to buy books for students proceeding into higher education (under 25 years old).
