Our SEND Unit at Summerseat Methodist Primary School

Blossom is our Local Authority-commissioned SEND Unit for children with Autism and associated Cognition and Learning needs.

Blossom is part of our school — another class where children belong, grow and flourish.

Blossom offers the best of both worlds:

🌿 Planned and meaningful inclusion with mainstream peers on an individualised basis

Children learn in a small, specialist environment with experienced staff, personalised curriculum pathways and access to our carefully designed spaces, including our dedicated sensory space, the SENSO Cube. For much of the school day, this provides a secure base for learning. Alongside this, pupils take part in wider school life and selected mainstream lessons, as appropriate to their needs, in a carefully planned and meaningful way.

We work closely with families, providing regular updates through SeeSaw and structured review meetings to ensure every child makes progress from their starting point.

Places are allocated by Bury Local Authority through the EHCP process.

Blossom gives children the right support at the right time — while remaining fully part of our Summerseat family.
